ACAR Custom Diary 2024

Es wird meistens nicht nur an einem Modell gebaut und gebastelt. Damit ich nicht den Überblick verliere, wollte ich mal die Schritte dokumentieren, als Referenz für mich selbst und auch für andere.

Let's get started - Los geht's

Los geht´s mit FORD GT40 auf Basis der AUTOWORLD X-Traction Version. Beim Bauen orientiere ich mich gerne an Originalen. Daher ist der erste Schritt die Auswahl der Fahrzeuge. Bilder als Referenzen im Internet suchen. Dann werden die Grafiken für Decals (wasserlösliche Schiebebilder) auf die Karosserie proportional passend erstellt. Die Fahrzeuge in h0 sind niemals maßstabsgetreu. Daher muss man die Grafiken den Möglichkeiten entsprechend anpassen. In vielen Fällen ist es notwendig gute Vorlagen für die Logos und Grafiken zu finden. Oftmals zeitaufwendig und auch interessant die Pixel richtig zu interpretieren.

Auswahl der Fahrzeuge für das Projket / Selecting four different cars for this project

Nachdem das Interesse am Hobby Modellbau verflogen war, was häufiger vorkommt, hatte ich vier FORD GT40 Modelle aus der Kiste gekramt. Bereits letztes Jahr hatte ich recherchiert und eine Auswahl von Fahrzeugen festgelegt. Die Decals wurden anhand von Fotos für die AUTOWORLD Modelle gestaltet und bei Decal Print produziert.

ACAR Custom FORD GT40 2024 – Part II

Body Autoworld / Chassis AFX Magnatraction Decals Custom Printed by Decal Print

AFX Magnatraction Chassis wurden gereinigt und für die Modelle neu aufgebaut. Die Halterungen für dieMotoren musste versetzt werden. Im Original sehen die AUTOWORLD GT40 aus wie Geländewagen, nicht wie Rennautos. Eines der Fahrzeuge hat eine modifizierte Haube und die hintere Stoßstange passt auch nicht zum Fahrzeug. Unebenheiten wurde geschliffen und zu große Lücken gefüllt. Jetzt brauchen die Autos noch einen Auspuff.

ACAR Custom Porsche 911 RSR and Porsche 934

Speaking in Numbers

Over the years several Porsche materialized as h0 slot car versions. The Porsche 911 RSR and its successor the Porsche 930 or Porsche 911 Turbo had always been on the wish list. AFX produced 934/5 model, that asked for a lot of modifications in order to represent the 911 RSR or 930. Most significant to the 935/5 was the rear wing section. For the first cars, each model underwent all the modified. After the first four or five cars, a prototype of the 911 RSR and 930 was generated in order to make resin cast copies. Eventually pictures of the last batch were taken over the weekend. The series of cars partly focused on significant team liveries and cars that appeared in different races with minor changes. Many of the Kremer Racing Porsche became motorsport icons. MaxMoritz was another successful racing team with Porsche. Let me show you an overview of the cars in question.
